Project: Design a promotional poster for Children's Book Week using 'alternate media'


Okay, so this project totally kicked my ass, but that's alright. I'm so incredibly proud of the final product that I don't care how much of a fight it was to get it to this point.

Originally it was going to be a parade of classic fantasy characters making their way up to the castle, which was going to be made of books, and was going to be done with traditional collaging and some acrylic paint. Yea, didn't happen quite that way. Castle of books was first to go, with the size of the thing the fact it was made of books either looked lame as hell or just didn't read at all. Parade went out the window next, after about a week and a half of battling to try and get it to work, and then I wound up without enough time to do the collage by hand so I went with CGing it instead.

There's a lot of little details here and there I wish I could have done better, but as this is the first time I've ever undertaken a digital project of this size, I'm totally cool with just remembering them for next time.
